Drupal Based Events
Migration of event and calendar information from the BUCMS to Drupal will take place on Monday, November 6 and Tuesday, November 7. There is likely to be some limited service disruption during this migration. Therefore, we strongly advise that you do not add or modify event information inside the BUCMS during those two days. The information is likely to be lost during the conversion.
Drupal-based event management will bring a myriad of features including a new WYSIWYG text editor, an ability to incorporate imagery into events, better options for tagging and sharing event content between websites, and an improved appearance when sharing on social media.
Drupal-based event content management is coming in November 2023.
Drupal Managed Events
Events will soon be managed within Drupal, bringing a host of new features for creating and managing events.
- Within the BUCMS, event functionality was very limited. Content managers had a modest number of fields: title, start/end-date, plain-text description, categories, and status.
- Within Drupal, content managers have access to a full WYSIWYG editor, an ability to attach images/media, and more.
- Drupal events can be syndicated (shared) between Drupal websites, meaning your content can be displayed in multiple places without reentering content. The syndication concept extends capabilities in the BUCMS, providing more granular tools for categorizing content.
